The winter is in full effect and the Absinthe footage keeps stacking up. Justin Hostynek and Shane Charlebois returned from a successful three week trip to Japan with Nicolas Müller, Eero Ettala and Kevin Pearce. Travis Rice shifted it into high gear in Jackson with Dan Brisse and Mark Carter after a ten day trip to the Nixon Tavarua High Tide hold'em where he placed second. This weekend the crew based in Switzerland lead by filmer David Vladyka built the infamous camel jump that hasn't been sessioned since JP, Romain and Trevor hit it four years ago for Futureproof. There have already been reports that the jump can be seen from outer space. JP Solberg, Jules Reymond are on weather-hold and sent out an invitation to Romain deMarchi to hit this beast with them. Romain reportedly has cut is Canada trip short and will be back just in time.Hopes are high but it all comes down to some cooperation from Mother Nature. Stay tuned.

Saturday started off with promising conditions. Everything came together on a perfect blue bird day after a few days of heavy snow fall in Portes du Soleil. The camel toe jump which had been shaped a week earlier was waiting to be dusted off and deflowered. We brought in the helicopter from Verbier (Heli Alps) to get a third angle but also to help out the riders by allowing them to focus their energy on stomping some big things instead of hiking endlessly. Eight people made it happen. Romain deMarchi, Jules Reymond, and JP Solberg, together with two photographers Howzee and Ahriel Povic and Absinthe Filmers, Eric, Vlady and Brusti. Good vibes on the hill helped bring it all together. Around noon everything was ready and the helicopter took off with David Vladyka filming from the bird. JP lead the way and among other things, brought his double corked trick from last year to the big leagues. The resulting photos that you will be peeping in the mags next winter will blow your mind… and the film shots worked out, too.
